Philippines VS. Other Asian countries

The Philippines officially known as the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Repúblika ng Pilipinás), is asovereign state in Southeast Asia in the western Pacific Ocean. To its north across theLuzon Strait lies Taiwan. West across the South China Sea sits Vietnam. The Sulu Seato the southwest lies between the country and the island of Borneo, and to the south theCelebes Sea separates it from other islands of Indonesia. It is bounded on the east by thePhilippine Sea. Its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and its tropical climate make the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons but have also endowed the country with natural resources and made it a megadiverse country. Covering almost three hundred thousand square kilometres (over 115,000 sq mi) makes it the 73rd largest independent nation^[11] and an archipelago comprising 7,107 islands, the Philippines is categorized broadly into three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Its capital city is Manila.

~~~ As we all know Philippines is a colonized country...We have been Colonized by Japan from 1942-1945 Japan occupied the Philippines for over three years, until the surrender of Japan. A highly effective guerilla campaign by Philippine resistance forces controlled sixty percent of the islands, mostly jungle and mountain areas. MacArthur supplied them by submarine, and sent reinforcements and officers. Filipinos remained loyal to the United States, partly because of the American guarantee of independence, and also because the Japanese had pressed large numbers of Filipinos into work details and even put young Filipino women into brothels... WHat the? our ancestors became a servant for japan..then those japanese before raped many filipina young girls..My grandmother used to tell stories about her encounters with japanese people. She told me that they are hiding like rats from japan and they barely cant eat!!! sad story. I hated japanese people at that time but she told me not all japanese are bad because some of them are giving poor filipinos to eat in secret. well yeah every people has their own personality so I dont want to just hate them because of that... ^_^

b. Spain - Actually they didn't invade the country but colonized them starting 1565. Philippines was discovered by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. The King of Spain commissioned Ruy Lopez de Villalobos in 1565 to establish settlements in Cebu, central Philippines. In 1571, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi was sent to formally colonize the country and establish the Spanish city of Manila. He also became the first governor-general of the Philippines.

b. Netherlands - In 1568, Spanish Flanders revolted against Philip II of Spain (Philippines was named after him) which is known in history as the Eighty Years' War. Later, Dutch revolutionaries started the Dutch War of Independence where they declared a republic and started war with Spain. The Dutch Republic commissioned Dutch fleet to sail across Spanish colonies, one of which reached Manila and the Port of Cavite City where they bombarded and invaded the cities.

d. Portugal - Philippines is actually within Portuguese point of interest of colonization as established by late 15th century Treaties of Zaragoza and Tordesillas. So they laid a claim in the islands stating that the country is theirs. From the establishment of the colony in 1565, Portuguese ships keep on attacking the country in a chance that they'll take it after Spain. This only ends in 1580, when the last sovereign monarch of Portugal died and Portugal came into union with the Crown of Spain, bringing all of territories of Portugal to the Spanish monarch.

e. Great Britain - In 1756, the continuation of War of Austrian Succession started knowing as the Seven Years' War. Initially, the alliance of France, Austria and Russia formed an alliance against Prussia. The latter called its ally Great Britain and Hanover which started the war. Spain, having dynastic relations with France, also declared war with Great Britain. In 1762, warships coming from India invaded Manila and they successfully occupied it. From 1762-1764, Manila became a colony of Great Britain with a single governor named Sir Dawsonne Drake. When war was concluded in 1764, Great Britain returned Manila to Spain.

f. United States - Spain lost in Spanish American War in 1898. This started with the Cuban Revolution, where US watched in closely. US invaded the Philippines then through Commodore George Dewey. When war was ended by December 1898, Spain agreed to cede Philippines, Puerto Rico, Guam, Marianas and Carolinas to United States and recognize the sovereignty of Cuba as an independent nation.

PHILIPPINES VS CHINA

 Its a misunderstanding because of Scarborough shoal  and Spratly island.China and the Philippines are locked in an intense territorial dispute over the resource-rich region that is comprised of the Spratly, Paracel and Pratas Islands.

It also includes the Macclesfield Bank and the Scarborough Shoal--the site of the two-month naval standoff between Manila and Beijing last year.Manila pulled out its vessels from the shoal in July last year amid the typhoon season. Beijing practically "controls" the shoal today with about three rotating Chinese vessels.Reportedly, Filipino fishermen can no longer go near the shoal.The Philippines filed its claims before the Itlos on January 22 but China rejected the proposal on February 19, preferring instead to deal with claimant-countries in a bilateral level.The West Philippine Sea is being claimed in whole by China and Taiwan, and in part by the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.The United States, a known ally, has supported the Philippines' initiative to bring the matter before an international forum.,,

Oh come on China!! it's our island! you cant just get it from us!!! its very clear that we own it....Yeah I know if you will declare a war philippines would really need help from the US..(not that I dont have trust in Philippine army) but many innocent will die!! maybe including me... nooooooooooooooooooo!!

PHILIPPINES VS. MALAYSIA

 OKay another Island Misunderstand!!! the Sabah!! the story about it that I've known is that The Sabah is a part of malaysia who is owned by a Muslim then there was a time that someone wants to colonized malaysia, so the  muslim leader(the sultan) asked help from a Filipino Muslim sultan here in the Philippines.The Sultan from the Philippines helped those malaysian in their fight and gladly the won!!,,so for the prize of the Filipino sultan The Sabah is rewarded to him...so in that case the Sabah now is generally belongs to Philippines. end of story!...so see that? the Sabah is for Philippines!!!!

PHILIPPINES VS. TAIWAN!

this is a really shit story actually!!!

It's their fault for invading the filipino sea!!! well if a stranger walked into your house would you just say "cofee sir?" duh!! i would totally call the police or bring my shotgun out if that person is weird!...the story behind the misunderstanding is There are Taiwanese Fisherman who came across the philippine sea line...we all know it's illegal so the Filipino guards(ahmm fisherman?? lol i dont know what they call) Tell those taiwanese to back off or go fish in some other place but those taiwanese ahmm maybe don't understand English (lol) didn't listen, they even want to fight!! so a Filipino guard took his gun for a defense and accidentally shoot an old taiwanese fisherman...so thats the start of the big story!! the Taiwanese people wants The whole Philippines to apology ( was it our fault at first???)..then those taiwanese people also rallied against our president!! Our embassy sent an apology but they really want our president to make a personal apology...(is that even fair>?)..Our president says he wont really make an apology as in ever!!! So the taiwanese people replied "If you wont make the apology we will declare war!".
